Coloured Raine May She Raine Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark rosy mauve with warm undertones and a matte finish. The color payoff was opaque in layer, while the texture felt a bit firmer, a little drier, which made it cling more noticeably against my lips. It didn’t gather in my lip lines as much as I anticipated (based on the feel), but it felt a little drying after three hours of wear. It lasted well for four and a half hours overall.

Coloured Raine Queendom Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a rich, red-copper with warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It was intensely pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that felt velvety and more powder-like. While there was a touch of slip, I did have to use firmer pressure to pull the lipstick across my lips, so there was slight tugging. The product felt like it clung to my lips more noticeably, though it did not seem to be actively drying over time, and separated a bit along my deeper lip lines. It stayed on nicely for six hours, left a slight stain behind, and was non-drying.

It had rich color payoff in a single layer, which applied evenly and smoothly across my lips without tugging. The consistency was firm but not stiff, lightweight, and just creamy enough not to tug. Ciate Jessica Rabbit Glitter Storm Lipstick ($22.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a bright, ruby red with cool undertones and multi-colored glitter (I saw mostly pink and gold). The texture felt noticeably glittery in the tube and during application, which was textured enough that I definitely could feel all of the glitter as I applied the product to my lips. Those who are particularly sensitive to glitter in their lip products will likely find this too gritty, but those who don’t find that to be a deal-breaker, keep reading. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that adhered evenly and didn’t emphasize my lip texture, which I owed to the lightly glossy finish. The color wore well for five and a half hours with minimal glitter travel, while the formula was lightly hydrating over time.

It appears to be out of stock on Sephora’s site, but it is still available at Ciate.

FYI, the palette contains three shades (Bahamas, Cannes, and Palm) that are Pressed Pigments, which have the following fine print: “not intended for use around the immediate eye area.”

Coloured Raine Safarai Raine 9-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($39.00 for 0.44 oz.) is a new, permanent palette featuring four mattes and five shimmers. I only had trouble working with one shade–Congo Basin–which was less blendable than I expected, while the other eight shades were fantastic: pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. Shades like Toucan and Green Valley were exceptionally creamy–seemed quite packed with silicones–so my best tip for those who haven’t worked with this type of formula before is to use flatter/denser brushes and less sweeping, more pressing/patting motions.

Toucan is a rich gold with strong,w arm orange undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, cream-like texture that was dense but not too thick or too firmly pressed in the pan. The eyeshadow applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even application that blended out easily along the edges. It lasted beautifully for eight and a half hours before I noticed faint creasing.

The formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented, long-lasting, and blendable” and come in a variety of finishes. Most their eyeshadows are semi-opaque to opaque with a smooth, blendable textures that are easy to use and apply well to bare skin. The shimmers are slightly dense and creamier to the touch compared to the mattes, which aren’t thin but don’t have the same amount of slip. They tend to wear between eight and nine hours on me.

Congo Basin is a muted, medium olive green with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was firmer and stiffer with a thinner feel to it, and unfortunately, it was harder to blend out on my skin (with and without primer). It had opaque pigmentation, and it worked decently when layered with some of the other deeper mattes in the palette, but I couldn’t get the edge to really spread and soften as much as I wanted to. This shade lasted well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably.

Matriarch

Matriarch is a deep brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The color coverage was opaque, while the eyeshadow had a soft, velvety texture that wasn’t too thin nor too thick, which made it easy to work with. The color applied evenly and blended out with minimal effort, and despite it being deep and pigmented, it wasn’t prone to fallout. It wore nicely for eight and a half hours on me before it faded noticeably.
